ILC to train faculty and REPS on Open source software and Podcasting in October

In line with the Interactive Learning Center’s (ILC) mandate to develop faculty expertise, strengthen its role in e-learning development and implementation and in response to the requests of faculty and REPS who were not able to attend the training held last

May 26-29, ILC will hold again free training workshops on open source software and Podcasting on the following dates:

ILC to hold trainings on Open source software and Podcasting

The Interactive Learning Center (ILC) will conduct trainings on open source software and Podcasting on May 26-29, 2009 at ILC’s computer laboratories, 3rd floor CAS Annex 1 building. The trainings aim to share to participants the power of open source software and take advantage of its many features that are common in its propriety counterparts. It is also an opportunity for participants to learn new technologies designed to help educators to create effective on line learning communities.

ILC holds planning workshop

The Interactive Learning Center (ILC) of UP Los Baños conducted a planning workshop last November 10 at ILC’S Conference Room. Members of the advisory committee of ILC worked together in planning the programs and activities of the center for the next three years. Created on January 2005 at UPLB, ILC is tasked to support the interactive learning process through the development and production of multimedia materials for undergraduate programs and develop faculty expertise in the development and production of multimedia materials.

UPLB: Host for the 24th UP Centennial Lecture

On September 26, the University of the Philippines Los Baños will host the 24th UP Centennial lecture as former UPLB Chancellor Wilfredo P. David will deliver a lecture entitled ”Reassessing UPLB’s commitment to excellence, academic freedom and social responsibility”, 2:00-4:00pm at the NCAS Auditorium.

ILC holds MOODLE Training

The Interactive Learning Center (ILC)-UP Los Baños conducted a training on MOODLE (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) for faculty from the different colleges on August 4, 2008 at the Computer Laboratory 2 of the center.

ILC holds training on Podcasting

The Interactive Learning Center (ILC)-UP Los Baños in cooperation with the College of Development Communication (CDC) conducted a three-day training on Podcasting on June 11-13, 2008 at the Computer Laboratory 1 of the center at the 3rd floor of the CAS Annex 1.

Podcasting, a combination of the words IPod and Broadcasting is a “new medium that enables educators who are involved in e-Learning to easily incorporate on-demand audio recordings into their curriculum.”

ILC to conduct training on Podcasting

The Interactive Learning Center (ILC)-UP Los Baños in cooperation with the College of Development Communication (CDC) will hold a three-day training on Podcasting on June 11-13, 2008 at the Computer Laboratory 1 of the center at the 3rd floor of the CAS Annex 1. The training aims to train and equip participants with skills in developing a podcast. Twenty participants composed of faculty and staff from the different colleges are expected to attend the said training. Currently, there are fourteen who confirmed their attendance and six slots are still available.
