ILC trains new UPLB faculty members on e-learning trends and practices

The Interactive Learning Center (ILC), with the support of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), conducted the 9th batch of training-workshops on Development/Application of Interactive Learning Materials for new faculty members on July 26-28 and Aug 1, 2017. The training-workshops that have been completed were held at the Executive Conference Room of the BM Gonzales building and at the ILC Computer Laboratory I , 3rd flr, CAS Annex 1 Building.

The training-workshops aim to impart the recent trends on e-learning practices and develop the skills and capabilities of UPLB faculty members on the development and production of interactive learning materials, application of different learning management systems (LMS), and alternative tools for teaching and learning. It is regularly conducted to further mainstream interactive learning in the University.

For this set of training workshops, the resource persons and their topics are the following: Prof. Alleli Ester C. Domingo, Interactive Learning and Paradigm Shift in Tertiary Education and Dr. Edmund G. Centeno, Technology in Today’s Classroom on July 26, Prof. Nelio C. Altoveros on Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE) on July 27, Prof. Analinda M. Fajardo on Edmodo Social Learning Platform and Prof. Lynette C. Serrano on Alternative Tools for Teaching and Learning on July 28, and Prof. Aldo T. Lim on Learning Object Development/Packaging on August 1.

Completion of a relevant ILC training-workshop on the development/ application of interactive learning materials is one of the prerequisites to qualify for grants for the development of interactive instructional materials. (Beverly R. Pabro)
