ILC holds training-workshop for new UPLB faculty members (6th Batch)

The Interactive Learning Center (ILC), with the support of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), is now holding the 6th batch of training-workshops on the Development/Application of Interactive Learning Materials for new faculty members on five consecutive Mondays dated Feb 22, 29 and March 7, 14, 21, 2016 at the Executive Conference Rm of the BM Gonzales building and at the ILC Computer Laboratory, CAS Annex 1 Building.

According to Dr. Maribel L. Dioniso-Sese, ILC Director, “the training-workshops are regularly conducted to further mainstream interactive learning in the University and to develop the skills and capabilities of new UPLB faculty members on the application of different learning management systems (LMS), alternative tools for teaching and learning, and latest e-learning practices.”

Last February 22, Prof. Alleli Ester C. Domingo and Dr. Maribel L. Dionisio-Sese gave lectures on “Interactive Learning and Paradigm Shift in Tertiary Education” and “Technology and Instruction in Today’s Classroom,” respectively. Participants will have hands-on training on the use of “ Alternative Tools for Teaching and Learning” with Prof. Lynette C. Serrano and “Edmodo Social Learning Platform” with Prof. Analinda M. Fajardo on February 29 while “Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE)” with Prof. Nelio C. Altoveros will be tackled on March 7. On the other hand, topics on Learning Object Development/Packaging with Prof. Aldo T. Lim and Instructional Design Model for Blended Learning Systems with Dr. Edmund G. Centeno will be discussed on March 14. Individual presentation of participants’ outputs will be conducted on March 21. Completion of a relevant ILC training-workshop on development/ application of interactive learning materials is one of the prerequisites to qualify for grants for the development of interactive instructional materials.
