ILC trains new faculty members in using interactive learning materials

The Interactive Learning Center (ILC), with the support of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), is currently conducting training-workshops on the Development/Application of Interactive Learning Materials for new faculty members (5th Batch) on January 4-8 at the Executive Conference Rm of the BM Gonzales building and at the ILC Computer Laboratory, CAS Annex 1 Building.
The training-workshops were designed to develop the skills and capabilities of new faculty members on the application of different learning management systems (LMS), alternative tools for teaching and learning and latest e-learning practices.
On the first day of training, Prof. Alleli Ester C. Domingo and Dr. Maribel L. Dionisio-Sese gave lectures on “Interactive Learning and Paradigm Shift in Tertiary Education” and “Technology and Instruction in Today’s Classroom,” respectively. Participants will have hands-on training on the use of Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE) with Prof. Nelio C. Altoveros (January 5) , Edmodo Social Learning Platform with Prof. Analinda M. Fajardo, and Alternative Tools for Teaching and Learning with Prof. Lynette C. Serrano (January 6), Learning Object Development/Packaging with Prof. Aldo T. Lim and Instructional Design Model for Blended Learning Systems Participants with Dr. Edmund G. Centeno (January 7).
The first four batches of training-workshops for new faculty members were conducted on July 28-Aug. 1, 2014; Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2014, Jan. 12-16, 2015 and July 21-24, 2015. Completion of a relevant ILC training-workshop on development/ application of interactive learning materials is one of the prerequisites to qualify for grants for the development of interactive instructional materials.
