ILC conducts Training-Workshops for Newly Hired Faculty Members for AY 2014-2015

The Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), through the Interactive Learning Center (ILC), conducted training-workshops on the Development/Application of Interactive Learning Materials specifically for newly hired faculty members from July 2014 to January 2015 at the Executive Conference Room, 3rd floor, New Administration Building.

The training-workshops aimed to impart the latest and recent trends on e-learning practices as well as develop skills and capabilities on the application of alternative tools for teaching and learning among faculty members. Thus, a significant part of the training workshop was the individual presentation of the participants’ outputs on the last day.

The workshop topics and resource speakers-trainors were as follows:
1) Interactive Learning and Paradigm Shift in Tertiary Education
(Prof. Alleli Ester C. Domingo)
2) Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE)
(Prof. Nelio C. Altoveros)
3) Technology and Instruction in Today’s Classroom
(Prof. Jon Paul F. Maligalig)
4) Edmodo Social Learning Platform (Prof. Analinda M. Fajardo)
5) Learning Object Development/Packaging (Prof. Aldo Gavril T. Lim); and
6) Alternative Tools for Teaching and Learning (Prof. Lynette C. Serrano)
The first, second and third batch of training workshops were conducted on July 28-August 1; September 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2014 and January 12-16, 2015 respectively. To date, 68 new faculty members already attended the said workshops.

Completion of a relevant ILC training-workshop on development/ application of interactive learning materials is one of the requisites in the awarding of Grants for the Development of Interactive Instructional Materials (BRP).
