ILC holds Series of Training-Workshops on the Development/Application of Interactive Learning Materials for Faculty Members in June-August 2014

In line with the policy of mainstreaming interactive learning in our university, the Interactive Learning Center (ILC) of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs conducted a series of training-workshop on the “Development/Application of Interactive Learning Materials”, for faculty members from June-Aug 2014 at the Executive Conference Room, 3rd flr., New Administration Building.
The training-workshops aim to impart the latest and recent trends on e-learning practices and develop skills and capabilities on the application of alternative tools for teaching and learning among faculty members. The training-workshops had the following components:
1) Technology and Instruction in Today’s Classroom
2) Alternative Tools for Teaching and Learning in Today’s Classroom
3) Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment or MOODLE
4) Edmodo Social Learning Platform
5) Learning Object Development/Packaging
6) Individual Presentation of Participant’s Outputs

Each training workshop sessions had 26 faculty members and a resource person as lecturer-trainor. The resource speakers were Prof. Jon Paul F. Maligalig and Prof. Lynette C. Serrano of the Department of Educational Communication, Prof. Aldo Gavril T. Lim of the Department of Science Communication, College of Development Communication; Prof. Katrina Joy H. Magno of the Institute of Computer Science; Prof. Analinda M. Fajardo of the Institute of Biological Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences.

Faculty members were required to attend and complete the different workshop sessions. Completion of a relevant ILC training-workshop on development/ application of interactive learning materials is one of the requisites in the awarding of Grants for the Development of Interactive Instructional Materials (BRP).
